Ferndown Childrens Centre

Children's Centres aim to give all children the best possible start in life and enable parents to support their child and family. They act as a central point where families can access information and a range of services.

What we do

We offer a range of activities for children under five and their families including:

Messy Play
Stay and Play
Something's Cooking
Music and Movement

We provide specific support for families with our Young Parent's Group, Incredible Years Parenting Programme and regular Multi-Birth and Baby Feeding Groups.

To ensure families can access the very best support and information possible, we work in partnership with a number of other professional agencies including Speech and Language, Health Visitors, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service and the Parent Support Advisor Service. We have strong links with local school communities.

Location and area covered

We are located in the grounds of Ferndown First School. Action for Children run Children's Centres in West Moors, Verwood, Wimborne and Corfe Mullen, which forms the East Dorset Cluster. Our services and activities extend across the East Dorset area. There is free parking on site

We are open Monday to Friday, 52 weeks per year. We provide a termly calendar detailing where and when our activities take place. You are welcome to drop in at any of our centres or contact us if you would like further information.
