We look forward to welcoming you to Bovington children's centre where you will find a child friendly, exciting environment with a large activity room. We work closely with other agencies and community groups in Bovington. We also use the memorial hall in Bovington to run some of our activities and families can use either venue to help develop parenting skills and enable their child to develop pre-school readiness.

We offer a variety of activities and services including:

  • Health visitors early days cafe
  • Under ones group and young parents group
  • Bosom buddies breast feeding support group
  • Parenting skills
  • Themed session including exploratory play, cooking and physical play

Please see the calendar of activities for Purbeck Children's Centres (pdf, 385kb) (opens in a new window) . These activities are open to all parents and and carers of children aged under five. Why not drop in to see what we have on offer, we would be happy to show you around.

The Purbeck cluster newsletter (pdf, 1Mb) (opens in a new window) will give you all the up to date information on what is happening in our centres.

Children's Centre Open Day-17 May 2013

Each Children's Centre in Purbeck is having an Open Day on Friday 17 May 2013. Bovington Children's Centre Open Day takes place from 8.30am-4.00pm where anyone can drop in to meet staff and see what activities are on offer. Additional support if you need it

For families who may need that extra little bit of help we can offer the support of one of our outreach workers who can help on a one to one basis with behaviour management, tricky eaters, parenting advice or additional needs (Early Support) and for families with English as an additional language. If you are confused about benefits, housing and maternity entitlements, returning to work or disability living allowance, we can sign post you to someone who can help.

Location and area

We are based in the shopping parade in George V Road. Some of our sessions are held at the Memorial Hall located by the Hive. We cover the geographical area from Lulworth to Morden. We have strong links with Swanage Children's Centre and Upton Children's Centre children's centres and have an outreach base in Wool Children's Centre We work together as part of the Purbeck cluster. Families are welcome to attend any of the activities or groups running from any children's centre.

You can park for free at the front or behind our base office in Bovington.
