Integrated Equipment Service for Dorset
We are the Integrated Equipment Service for Dorset, a partnership between Dorset County Council and NHS Dorset. We provide the administration for the issue of equipment to residents of Dorset, excluding Bournemouth and Poole, who meet the eligibility criteria. This is based on need but not means tested.
Supply of simple aids for daily living
Simple Aids for Daily Living (SADLs) are supplied by accredited retailers and installers. Please see the
Retailer List (pdf, 17kb) (opens in a new window)
. SADLs are smaller items of equipment which do not require servicing and maintenance.
If you have been assessed as needing smaller equipment, the person who carried out your assessment will give you a prescription. You can take the prescription to any of the
retailers on the list (pdf, 17kb) (opens in a new window)
. You have the choice to upgrade the basic equipment prescribed, but will be liable for the additional cost.
This equipment becomes your property. It will be your choice how to dispose of the equipment when you no longer need it. Please see the
Collection of Equipment (pdf, 15kb) (opens in a new window)
for further information.
Supply of complex aids for daily living
Complex Aids for Daily Living (CADLs) are supplied by PLUSS on a rental basis. PLUSS is a social enterprise based in Exeter who were awarded the contract following tender.
CADLs are bigger items of equipment which in many cases need servicing and maintenance as they have electrical or hydraulic parts.
Following your assessment, the items will be delivered to your home address. We are responsible to pay the equipment rental. It is therefore important that you contact us on 08000 147427 when the equipment is no longer needed. You can contact us on the same telephone number if it is in need of repair. This number is available 24 hours every day.
We will contact you every three months to review your equipment situation.
