Constitution of Christchurch Borough Council

The Constitution of Christchurch Borough Council was adopted by the council in 2003.

The Constitution provides the basic rules governing the council's business. It also contains more detailed procedures and protocols aimed at ensuring that the council, its members and officers are accountable, transparent, effective, provide community leadership and continuously improve services.

As the Constitution is a living document, the Monitoring Officer continually monitors how it works and makes recommendations to the council on changes that could be made to improve it. If you have any comments or suggestions about the Constitution, please contact the Monitoring Officer Keith Mallett
