Christchurch Borough Council consultations
Christchurch Borough Council believes consultation to be a vital ingredient in deciding its priorities. We are committed to openness and transparency about our decisions.
We need to ensure that our service delivery is accessible to everyone. We have talked and listened to local groups in many ways over the past few years and have undertaken many formal and informal consultations with residents, residents associations, partners and other stakeholders, on wide ranging issues.
Consultation has helped us with the following:
The introduction of kerbside recycling following consistent messages from residents
The consultation with businesses regarding town centre events and whether they should continue
The establishment of a one-stop-shop for council services at the Civic Offices
Drafting the Community Plan to ensure it reflected the main issues facing the borough
Our consultation is governed by our
Christchurch and East Dorset Consultation Protocol (pdf, 197kb) (opens in a new window)
, adopted in 2012. Irrespective of the nature of the consultation we endeavour to use best practice which may include using external contractors when appropriate.
