There are many wonderful sites to visit in Dorset where you can watch the wildlife, go for a walk or simply relax on a sunny day.

Christchurch
Christchurch has a diverse range of habitats, from saltmarsh and heathland to woodland and grassland.

The countryside of East Dorset is easy to get to and is unique in many ways, with internationally important wildlife.

Dorset Countryside currently manages 12 sites across North Dorset in partnership with the North Dorset District Council.

Purbeck
The Purbeck countryside is unique with around 30 different habitats and 200 species of conservation interest making it one of the richest districts in England. It has the stunning Jurassic Coast and internationally important heathland.

Weymouth and Portland
Visit Weymouth and Portland for the dramatic crashing of waves against the coastline of the Isle of Portland. The island is known for its stone and there are many fascinating quarries to visit. Weymouth is known for its reed bed habitat that attracts many rare and interesting birds.
