External community safety inspection - West Dorset
Inspection by the Audit Commission on West Dorset District Council's work on community safety.
The Audit Commission inspected the council between 20 and 24 June 2005. Inspectors looked for evidence of crime and disorder reduction activities being mainstreamed throughout the council.
Initial findings were presented to senior staff and councillors on 24 June with a final report published in August 2005.
To the right is a copy of the Audit Commission report, the council's self assessment report, which was submitted to District Audit on 3 June 2005, along with an annex showing the range of the council's work linked to improving community safety and a glossary of terms used in the report.
