Volunteers
Dorset History Centre is lucky to have a number of enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers. This group of people help our visitors to make the most of the sources we have.
Dorset History Centre volunteer provide valuable support to our service, helping to preserve documents and make the information they contain more readily accessible to our visitors and enquirers.
Volunteers have helped with packaging, stockchecking, listing, indexing, transcribing, research and much more.
Currently our existing volunteer projects are full, and we are not currently taking on new volunteers. We hope to expand our volunteering opportunities in 2012.
In some cases we may still be able to offer short-term placements (i.e. between one and two weeks) for those volunteers hoping to gain experience or insight into working in archives or the heritage sector.
