Refuse (residual waste) - part of the new Dorset collection service

As part of the new service, you will receive fortnightly refuse collections.

Not all materials and products can currently be reused, recycled or composted and as a result there is a need to collect refuse for other forms of treatment and disposal.

However, once food waste and recyclable materials are removed from household bins, most residents should have very little residual waste left to collect.

You will be issued with a 140-litre wheeled bin which you transfer waste from your household bin in to.

This will then be put out for collection every other week. The sort of things that might be left to go into your bin include animal litter and food pouches, china and broken crockery, cling film, crisp packets/tubes, nappies, medical products, polystyrene and packaging such as food trays and yoghurt pots.
