Details of courses available for teachers and support staff, including information on our new CPD online system.

Welcome to the  LSI Professional Development Opportunities Brochure 2011-12 (pdf, 265kb) (opens in a new window)  outlining the Dorset development programme available to those working in schools and academies from September 2011. The brochure gives an indication of the breadth of the programme that continues to be offered following the recent restructure. The underlying principles of the programme remain the same, to offer Dorset schools and academies high quality, good value, local provision.

NEW CPD Online Newsletter November 2011

Please see our new, occasional  Newsletter (pdf, 395kb) (opens in a new window) for CPD Online which we hope you will find informative and interesting.  We have included information regarding new developments and also commonly experienced problems.

Registration

Course information and training opportunities are now on a web-based system called  'Dorset CPD online' (opens in a new window) . The URL for the site is: www.dorsetcpd.co.uk

A CPD On-line  General User Guide (pdf, 317kb) (opens in a new window)  and a Step by Step Guide for CPD Leaders (pdf, 737kb) (opens in a new window)  are available to offer help and facilitate navigation of the website.

Once registered with an account, all communications regarding training and events will take place via email, therefore it is vitally important that staff register individual email addresses on their account profiles. To maximise your training opportunities please ensure your areas/subjects of interest are updated so that you are notified when courses are added. There will no longer be paper based fliers.

Booking

There are two ways to book courses via CPD online (see below) and neither can take place without the express authorisation of the School's CPD Leader.

  • The CPD Leader can make bookings on behalf of all members of staff
  • Any member of staff can request a place on a course, which will go to the school's CPD Leader for authorisation or denial before a booking is made.  Once your CPD leader has approved your place a member of the courses team will then confirm it (or not) and you will be notified immediately.

All bookings are subject to terms and conditions (pdf, 8kb) (opens in a new window) unless specifically marked as 'exempt from Standard Terms and Conditions' within the individual event details on CPD online.

Termly Financial Statements

The termly financial statements will now be available via CPD Online.  The statements can be accessed by the establishment CPD Leader through their portfolio.  A hard copy will no longer be sent to establishments.  The  guidance notes (pdf, 185kb) (opens in a new window)  give further instructions on how to access the financial statements.
