Purbeck District Council has 24 councillors in 14 wards across Purbeck. All councillors are elected for four years but are elected by thirds over a four year cycle:
Year 1 - 8 district councillors
Year 2 - 8 district councillors
Year 3 - 8 district councillors
Year 4 - 0 district councillors (year of county council elections).
