On 5 May 2011 there were Weymouth and Portland Borough Council elections, Portland Town Council elections and a referendum on an alternative voting system to replace the currently used first-past-the-post elections for Members of Parliament. The next scheduled elections will be Local elections in May 2012.

You can vote an election in Weymouth and Portland Borough if you are 18 years old and included in the Electoral Register for this Authority. You must be included on the Electoral Register about 2 weeks before an election if you wish to vote.

Weymouth & Portland Borough Council is undertaking a review of polling districts and polling places used in connection with parliamentary elections held within the Borough.
