Evidence and other planning documents
The Local Development Documents (LDDs) that the council will produce as part of its Local Development Framework (LDF) must be soundly based in terms of their content being based upon a robust, credible evidence base.
The question of 'soundness' will be key to the adoption of the council's LDF, being central to each LDDs examination by an independent inspector. Evidence based studies and other planning documents support both the current Local Plan and the emerging New Plan for North Dorset.
We have used the Local Transport Plan 3 produced by Dorset County Council, parish plans which have been produced by a large number of our parishes and various evidence base studies to help in the production of the new plan.

In preparing the North Dorset Core Strategy and other Local Development Documents the council has prepared and taken into consideration a large number of studies.
