Core Strategy background papers

The Core Strategy is supplemented by the Spatial Options Background Paper, which contains five volumes - Summary of Evidence, Challenges, Vision and Spatial Objectives, Development Options and Development Policies.

In addition there are many studies and strategies prepared by the council or external partners and links to these studies are set out below. For convenience the key findings of these studies and strategies are summarised in the Spatial Options Background Paper Volume 1.

Volume 10: Settlement Strategy (pdf, 1Mb) (opens in a new window)  - defines the role and function of each settlement and sets out the hierarchy.  It also includes an audit of the community facilities.
