Early Years Professional Status

This section gives details on Early Years Professional status, including how to become an EYP and funding available for those wishing to gain the status and financial incentives for early years settings who employ them.

Early Years Professional Status is awarded to graduates who can demonstrate that they meet a set of national, professional Standards when working with children from birth to five.

    If you currently work in childcare and do not have a degree but do hold Level 3 or 4 early years qualifications, then the next step to gaining Early Years Professional (EYP) Status is to study for the Level 5 Early Years Foundation Degree or the HND Advanced Practice with Children and Families.
