Hypnotism Authorisation
Guidance about how to apply for a hypnotism licence.
Under the
Hypnotism Act 1952 (opens in a new window)
if you wish to show, demonstrate or perform a hypnotism act in public, you must have an authorisation from the Licensing Authority if the show, performance or demonstration is to be in a premises within the area of the Local Authority.
Guidance as to how to apply this legislation is contained in the

. The guidance states that there are certain conditions that should be attached to any consent.

Hypnotism authorisation in North Dorset
If you wish to show, demonstrate or perform a hypnotism act in public in North Dorset you must have an authorisation from us as the Licensing Authority.

Hypnotism authorisation in West Dorset
Consent of the local authority is required to give an exhibition, demonstration or performance of hypnotism on any person in connection with entertainment to which the are admitted by payment or otherwise.
