The West Dorset Heritage Joint Action Committee's Framework for Action 2004-2009 provides a broad overview of the issues affecting the rural areas of West Dorset plus Weymouth and Portland. It identifies a number of focus areas for the work of the committee and the partner organisations.

Through the framework for action, the committee takes a co-ordinated approach to the management of the area, supporting potential partners and progressing joint projects. The expertise and local knowledge of the members of the committee provide a valuable asset that can help achieve the local delivery of the strategic projects identified in the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) Management Plan and other related strategies.

The outcomes should be of direct benefit to people living and working in the heritage committee area. It is hoped that the projects will also encourage improved partnership working on, and a more integrated approach to, the wider range of issues and opportunities that our countryside provides.
