Community Strategy Grants

The Dorset Strategic Partnership has funding available in its 2007-08 budget to support community planning work in Dorset. This funding, provided by Dorset County Council, includes grants to support projects that address priorities identified in the Community Strategy and in community plans, as well as supporting the development of parish plans.

Local Community Planning

The DSP has allocated £469,500 in 2010-11 to support local community planning within Dorset. Some of this money is allocated to the six local community partnerships in Christchurch, East Dorset, North Dorset, Weymouth and Portland, West Dorset and Purbeck. Local community partnerships are allocating this funding in different ways - for example funding projects within their partnership's action plan/community strategy, and/or having a small grant scheme.  Please contact your local community partnership for more information.

This money is also used to support the delivery of the Sustainable Community Strategy, Third Sector representation and parish planning.

Parish Plans

The Bridging Group of the Dorset Strategic Partnership is responsible for awarding parish plan grants. Bids to develop Town and Parish Plans should be submitted on the Parish and Town Plans Grant form (Application Form 1).

It is also possible to obtain a grant for a revision of an existing parish plan drawn up in 2002-03 or earlier. Bids should be submitted on the Parish Plan Revision Grant form (Application form 2).

For more information, please contact Vikki Lilliehook, the County Council Partnerships Officer.
