Local Area Partnerships in West Dorset

The West Dorset Partnership and the Community Plan focus on the issues and actions important to West Dorset. The Dorset Strategic Partnership is working to co-ordinate activity across the whole of Dorset, and Local Area Partnerships are concentrating on actions based on the district's market towns and their surrounding parishes.

Local Area Partnerships (LAPs)

Local Area Partnerships are currently in place in Dorchester Area Community Partnership (opens in a new window), Bridport Local Area Partnership (opens in a new window), Lyme Forward (opens in a new window), Sherborne Area Partnership (opens in a new window) and Beaminster and Villages Local Area Partnership. A member of each Local Area Partnership is invited to sit on the West Dorset Partnership so that they can feed in priorities that need to be considered at a district-wide level. 

The West Dorset Partnership has a  Local Area Partnership Action Plan Protocol [181kb] (opens in a new window) for responding to Local Area Partnership action plans and West Dorset District Council has developed a  Local Area Partnership Support Policy 2010-13 [222kb] (opens in a new window) on Local Area Partnerships.
