Dorset County Council Arts Service

The key aims of the county council arts service are:

  • To provide creative leadership to make arts experiences of the highest quality accessible to all communities in Dorset. To achieve this we will work with a range of individuals and organisations to bring together high profile events and projects celebrating and developing Dorset's creative potential

  • To ensure support is given to capacity building within the existing arts infrastructure and that development of such an infrastructure remains sustainable

  • To create opportunities within the county for artists and arts organisations to flourish with confidence through maximising resources in Dorset by application to sources of external investment

  • To promote the arts as an agent of development and change for both individuals and communities.

  • To increase links within Dorset County Council and with agencies working on a local, regional and national and international level to ensure the service is delivered in an integrated and collaborative way
