Anti-bullying

Say 'No' to bullying!

Dorset is developing its anti-bullying strategy as part of the Children and Young People's Plan, so far we have:

  • Established a definition of bullying with the Dorset County Pupil Council

  • Set up a multi-agency strategy group - including young people and parents - to lead developments

  • Undertake an annual Children and Young People's Survey

  • Developed guidance and training with the Dorset Safe Schools Team on "cyber-bullying"

  • Provided a parents' information pack on bullying. This is available to download from the related downloads section of this page

  • Held 'Safer internet days' in Bournemouth and Dorchester in conjunction with Dorset Police, believed to be the first of their kind in the country

  • Run conferences during anti bullying week involving teaching staff, children and young people, empowering them to take the agenda forward in their school

We are currently developing a community charter for all organisations to recognise those that address all aspects of bullying, and will be undertaking further work with all Childrens' Trust Partners to reduce bullying and provide better support for victims of bullying.
