Dorset Music Service

Find out about music in Dorset: Dorset Music Service is the main provider of musical tuition within Dorset, Poole and Bournemouth Schools and also runs county groups, ensembles and music centres.

Dorset Music Service (DMS) is committed to providing all kinds of instrument playing and musical opportunities at the highest practicable level, to as many young people in the county as possible.

It organises and helps fund community and special projects through Wider Opportunities and SoundStorm.

County Group Auditions 2010/2011

Music centres
The Music Service currently runs two music centres, one in the east and one in the west of Dorset.
Soundstorm
SoundStorm at Dorset Music Service provides the opportunity for young people to explore their creative talents and enrich their lives through music while celebrating the diversity of music forms and makers.
Instrumental tuition
An experienced team of teachers offer instrumental tuition to school children across Dorset, Bournemouth and Poole in partnership with both the local authority and a number of independent schools.
