We are lucky in Dorset that we have some stunning countryside with around 3,000 miles of public rights of way to explore.

Open access
Open access gives everybody the right to visit mapped access land on foot. You don't have to stick to paths and you can enjoy walking, running, watching wildlife, picnicking, flying kites - or simply sit and enjoy the view.

There are almost 3,000 miles of public rights of way in Dorset, made up of approximately 4,700 footpaths, 1,700 bridleways and 37 byways open to all traffic.

Health walks
Regular short guided health walks take place every week throughout Dorset to help keep you fit and healthy. These free walks offer a great opportunity to get out in the fresh air and meet new people.
