Funding Support in East Dorset
East Dorset District Council is committed to supporting Third Sector organisations (voluntary and community groups) and offers a range of support including advice and small grants.
Third Sector organisations play an important role in community life and East Dorset District Council offers them a range of support services. This includes three different Grant schemes that are available to organisations directly serving East Dorset residents.
Community Building grants are available to community venues, such as Village Halls which are located within the district, and can award grants of up to £10,000. Applications are only considered once a year and the application deadline for this year is 1 March 2009.
The Revenue Support Fund aims to help support organisations with their annual running costs, or for ongoing events or activities. Applications for 2009 are now closed and we will be accepting applications for 2010 up to 1 December 2009.
Community Chest grants are for new community projects and are for both revenue and capital costs. On average, successful applicants can expect an award of £500. Applications for 2009 are now closed and we will be accepting applications for 2010 up to 1 December 2009.
The Council also provides access to an external website where you can browse or search for funding for your project or organisation. The site includes a comprehensive database which holds details about every available funding opportunity including Government schemes, trusts, lottery and other schemes.
