East Dorset District Council - New Dog Control Orders
Following consultation with local residents, town and parish councils and local landowners, East Dorset District Council has made the Dogs Exclusion (East Dorset) Order 2010 and the Fouling of Land by Dogs (East Dorset) Order 2010.
The Fouling of Land by Dogs (East Dorset) Order 2010
This order came into force on 1 June 2010 and makes it an offence for anyone to fail to remove dog faeces deposited by a dog, for which he or she is responsible, from any land within the District of East Dorset which is open to the air and to which the public are entitled or permitted to have access (with or without payment).
Land placed at the disposal of the Forestry Commissioners under section 39(1) of the Forestry Act 1967 is excluded from the order. A copy of the order can be downloaded below, together with maps showing the excluded Forestry Commission land.
The Dogs Exclusion (East Dorset) Order 2010
This order came into force on 1 June 2010 and makes it an offence for anyone to take a dog for which he or she is responsible onto or to permit the dog to enter or to remain on any land within the District of East Dorset which is an enclosed children's play area or an enclosed tennis or games court. A copy of the order can be downloaded below, together with maps showing the play areas covered by the order.
Both of these orders and maps of the areas that are covered by the orders may be viewed at East Dorset District Council offices on Mondays to Thursdays 8.45am to 5.15pm and Fridays 8.45am to 4.45pm.
