Leeson House Field Studies Centre

Leeson House Field Studies Centre is situated in the heart of the Isle of Purbeck, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is also within easy walking distance of classic field study localities and the World Heritage Jurassic Coast.

Leeson House offers a wide range of day and residential courses to people of all ages. Courses range from a Teddy Bear's picnic for a Reception class through to fieldwork for GCSE controlled assessments or A-Level courses.

Leeson House is also available for hire by organised groups on a self-catered basis during winter weekends and school holidays. It is a very comfortable venue suitable for large family gatherings, adult, youth and church groups looking for a secluded stay in the Isle of Purbeck.

    All our field studies courses are individually planned to meet your own particular requirements. Our courses make full use of the grounds of Leeson House together with the stunning local environment which includes features such as Lulworth Cove, Old Harry Rocks and Corfe Castle.

    Leeson House has an excellent reputation for the quality of accommodation and catering. This is complemented by a modern classroom block with comprehensive field studies equipment and ICT provision. The extensive secluded grounds provide many opportunities for on-site activities such as orienteering, pond-dipping and team building.

    Leeson House has three permanent tutors all of whom are fully qualified teachers. Between them they have many years of experience teaching field studies to students of all ages. There are also two trainee tutors who specialise in more of the on-site activities.
