Local Transport Plan 3

Local Transport Plans (LTPs) are statutory documents which set the strategy for the management, maintenance and development of the area's transport system.

LTPs explain how funds, largely allocated by the Government, will be used to deliver improved transport and help meet the key objectives for transport established by both government and local authorities.

One transport plan for Bournemouth, Poole and Dorset

The new Local Transport Plan (LTP3) has now come into effect. For the first time we have produced just one Local Transport Plan for the whole of Bournemouth, Poole and Dorset. It covers the period from 2011 to 2026 and came into effect from April 2011. In south east Dorset, the LTP3 draws heavily on the recently completed South East Dorset Transport Study. For further information on the study please visit the South East Dorset Transport Study (opens in a new window)  website.
