We will then contact you to advise and confirm any charge.

Alternatively, you can contact our customer services team on 01305 251010 between 8.30am and 5pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am and 4.30pm on Friday. Your request will be passed to our pest control officers who will contact you either later the same day or the following morning.

Pests not treated by West Dorset District Council

We do not treat bees, badgers, bats, squirrels, rabbits, foxes, moles or birds.

We currently do not carry out bee treatments, however we do have a list of known bee keepers in the area who may be able to remove the nest/swarm on your behalf (they may charge a small fee).

Please note that most 'swarming' bees will move on within 48 hours.

If the location is particularly hazardous (i.e. a children's playground) and no bee keeper is available we will carry out treatment at the same cost as wasps.

If you receive Income Support, Job Seekers Allowance or Pension Credit Guarantee, treatment is reduced to the fee stated in brackets. However, you must show proof of up to date allowance to receive discount at the time of payment.

Payment may be made when you request treatment by debit or credit cards. There will be a small additional charge for using a credit card. Or you can pay the Pest Control Officer directly at the time of treatment with cash or cheque.

Please note that our charges are for a full treatment, this may mean more than one visit is undertaken. Our Pest Control Officers will give you advice to attempt to reduce the possibility of further infestation.

Commercial premises - excludes VAT

These include B&B where six or more people can stay, holiday homes (but not second homes, unless let out).

Rodents and insects - £60 an hour and materials + VAT (by invoice only).

Pest identification

We offer a free identification service for insects together with advice on treatment and control. We will need a sample of the insects in a sealed container together with your name, address, telephone number and a letter briefly stating where they have been found. We may need to send your sample away for identification and this can take up to seven days.
