2012 Recycling Lorry Banner Competition
The 2012 Games are fast approaching, and to help encourage locals and competitors alike to recycle and do their bit during Games time, Weymouth and Portland Borough Council and West Dorset District Council have teamed up with schools in the Chesil Education Partnership to produce a banner for their recycling vehicles to help spread the message.
If you attend a school that is in the Chesil Education Partnership and would like to take part, please take a look at the brief and information below and get involved!
The Brief
Weymouth & Portland Borough Council (WPBC) and West Dorset District Council (WDDC) would like to produce a number of multi-lingual banners, which thank foreign visitors in their own language for recycling.
The winning banners will be produced by the council for use on the side of actual recycling/refuse lorries in our area in the Olympic/Paralympic summer of 2012! Winning designs may also appear on posters for recycling bins in the area.
This should encourage everyone to recycle more, thus improving our environment.
There will be three age group categories:
- Year five and under
- Years six, seven and eight
- Year nine and above
