Waste reduction booklet
In order to assist residents to reduce their waste, the Dorset Waste Partnership has produced a free household waste reduction booklet.
The A5 size solution booklet carries detailed information on the waste issue and includes useful tips and advice on the following:
Home composting
Reducing junk mail
Packaging
Reducing food waste
Reusing things you might otherwise throw away
Contacting furniture reuse organisations
Obtaining modern reusable nappies
Recycling
As well as providing information, the booklet offers direct, practical solutions for dealing with rubbish. For example, it contains a postcard which warns callers not to leave junk mail. It also includes a leaflet that can be sent to the Mailing Preference Service to reduce your unwanted addressed mail and a postcard that can be sent away to reduce your unaddressed mail.
The booklet, postcard and MPS leaflet from the pack can be downloaded. Alternatively, to request a booklet by post, click on link below and send an email titled 'Waste Reduction Booklet' with your name and address. Please include your postcode.
