Help with collecting your refuse
If you are unable to carry your refuse out for collection, for example, if you are disabled, we can arrange for your refuse to be collected from your rear door. Please contact us to request an
Assisted Collection Form (pdf, 16kb) (opens in a new window)
. When you have completed this, please return it to the council offices at Furzehill and we will contact you about your needs.
Reducing waste
Please try to reduce the amount of waste you put out for collection by insisting on minimum packaging of products you purchase and by recycling or composting as much of your waste as possible.
If you are a new resident to East Dorset - welcome!
If you live in an area covered by our green bag and box kerbside recycling scheme or our brown bin scheme for the weekly collection of food waste and cardboard, and there is no green box and bag, or brown bin and kitchen caddy at your property already, we will deliver these to you. The leaflets explaining what materials are collected by each scheme will be posted to you.
We will also be able to tell you on which days your refuse and recycling collections take place.
Please call us on 01202 886201 to find this out and to order any recycling equipment you require. We will do our best to deliver this within one week.
Collection of large waste items
We can collect bulky waste items from your home, (waste that will not fit in a black sack or weighing more than 25kg). A charge will be made for this service.
