Specialist Prevention Service
The Specialist Prevention Service is all about promoting change for children, young people, and families. We undertake direct work with young people with multiple and complex needs.
The team is organized in sections with roles to prevent young people becoming looked after, to provide flexible packages of support to young people with complex needs, and to deliver treatment services to young people with substance use and alcohol issues.
For more information about the work of the sections of Specialist Prevention, please follow the links.

Workers within the Substance Use Team also offer a service to children and young people whose parents or carers use drugs or alcohol problematically. Many children experience little impact from their parent's or carer's use of drugs or alcohol, but there are a significant number whose lives are severely adversely affected and who benefit from focussed support.

- Young carers - support and advice
Who is a young carer? Do you look after or help a parent? Is this because they are ill, disabled or have problems with drugs, alcohol or their mental health?
