Trust funds

There are various local and national trust funds and charitable trusts which may be able to offer you some financial assistance.

Trust funds administered by Dorset

  • Dixon Galpin Scholarship Trust

  • Mary Coffin Scholarship Trust

  • Sir Reginald Pinney Scholarship Trust

  • Francis Ramage Prize

  • Marras Prize

As is the case with most trust funds, the amount of assistance available is limited. Applications are considered on a termly basis apart from the Francis Ramage Prize and the Marras Prize, which are annual awards considered in the summer term.

Other trusts

Financial assistance may be available from other charitable trusts not administered by this authority, although some of these trusts operate within the Dorset area.

There are also various reference books and guides containing extensive information about trust funds. The following publications may be useful:

  • Charities Digest (Family Welfare Association)

  • The Directory of Grant-making Trusts (Charities Aid Foundation)

  • The Educational Grants Directory (Directory of Social Change)

  • The Grants Register (mainly covering postgraduate study and research)
