Lulworth Range Walks and Tyneham Village opening times

Information on the opening times for walking on the Lulworth Ranges and accessing Tyneham village.

The Lulworth Range Walks and Tyneham Village are open to the public every weekend with the exception of the following:

  • 14 and 15 November 2015
  • 16 and 17 January 2016
  • 13 and 14 February 2016
  • 12 and 13 March 2016
  • 8 and 9 October 2016
  • 19 and 20 November 2016
  • 10 and 11 December 2016

In addition to the weekends they are open every day during the following times - all dates are inclusive:

  • Christmas 19 December 2015 - 3 January 2016

  • Easter 25 March - 3 April 2016

  • Bank Holiday 30 April - 2 May 2016

  • Spring Break 28 May - 5 June 2016

  • Summer 30 July - 4 September 2016

The exhibitions in Tyneham School and Tyneham Church are open from 10am until 4pm on the dates above.

The gates to the Range Walks are open at 9am on Saturday and remain open until 8am on Monday morning when only open at the weekends. The vehicle access gate to Tyneham is opened at 9am and locked each night at dusk. For any further information please use the contact details below.

Walking routes

You can purchase a map of Tyneham village and 2 suggested walking routes around the Ranges from Discover Purbeck Information Centre. The Range Walks are also shown on Ordnance Survey maps: Landranger 19 (Dorchester & Weymouth) and OL15 (Purbeck & South Dorset).

Coach and Mini-bus access

Please be aware that coaches and minibuses with over a 12-seat capacity, are prohibited from certain minor roads within the Purbeck District, unless in possession of a Coach permits for restricted roads in Purbeck from Dorset County Council- this includes Tyneham and surrounding areas.
